Just wanted to take a moment to thank those on the thread for the information about these running boards. I was able to order a set. It arrived last wednesday and the box appeared very damaged, but the boards were in fine shape. The mounting brackets were all engraved with the appropriate positions. The directions could have been organized better and some of the L brackets had to be shaved down on the back side to allow it to slip through the frame openings. Based on some reviews, they indicated that the vendor was able to provide better L brackets for the QX upon request so it may be something to consider.

All in all, it took me about 4 hours on my own, and the end product seems very nice, considering the overall cost.

Awesome! She looks great! Love the new QX60 grill :)

Thanks folks. I initially called the dealer to see if they had running boards. They indicated that they did not have running boards for the QX. After seeing all the posts here and on Amazon, I called around to see if anyone would be willing to install but struck out. I tend to do alot of work on my cars myself so I felt fairly confident that I could do it myself. If the directions were laid out better, I think the install could be done in 2-3 hours max, but I found myself trying to scroll back and forth and understand how it was being put together.

Definately recommend getting better L brackets specific to the QX if you are ordering from the vendor.
@MBQX60, the link is the same as the one provided by the OP in the initial postings.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B.../gp/product/B00HLPSBL2/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_15?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A1HODU090BD5T8

I know it's not motorized and what not, but considering the price, and the overall factory look, I couldn't be more happy with the overall running board kit and the fit and finish once installed...

I have a 2013 JX35 and this past March found this web-site and ordered the running boards from Amazon. They have just arrived a month later into Ukraine where I reside. It took two guys, three hours and $20 to install.
My question to everybody here is: as you look at the pictures I posted how come my running boards are shorter than y'all's?!?!
(My guys said and I looked for myself- this is the only way to install them if using the holes already there, not drilling or bending any metal). Thank you all anyway as either way I like the looks and functionality of my purchase. Like my Infiniti too))
I had the same issue as you. The running boards were too short. I took a look at the the Amazon listing and noticed the picture didn't match the actual running board. The flap on the back of the running board was missing. I've compared a picture of your running board and the one from the Amazon listing to show you the difference, which I circled in red. It seems like the running boards that are missing the flap are shorter and probably from a different manufacturer.

Just installed my RB's yesterday. Use the same link as the OP and after 4hrs it came out great! However, they did not come with the flaps you're talking about. I did push in the RB's closer to the frame to eliminate the gap. Overall I'm happy with them. Will post pictures later...

great thread! I just bought a 2014 AWD Base model 2 weeks ago and this thread was excellent.

I purchased https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HLPSBL2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
and it came with the flaps and was pretty much straight bolt on without any modifications. Watching the Youtube video (different type, also helped with install)

my review of it on Amazon:
good packaging - fast prompt delivery - item fitament was spot on for a 2014 Inifiniti QX60 base model with-out all those sensors (this item is for the Pathfinder) -- Amazon.com tool indicates it doesn't fit yet it does fit (the packaging box label says it's for 2014-2016)

I've read on the online forums that 2015 doesn't fit properly, but possibly the higher trim ones with lane departure sensors get in the way and one of the mounting brackets won't align as it gets in the way of that mount for running boards

also I didn't have the issue of having to 'cut' the mounting bolts nor drill bigger holes but i did message/comment the seller when ordering the item to let them know i had the 2014 model so that may have helped or the bolts have not been updated at the manufacturer

DIY is 2.5hrs to install with 2 people, no jacking up is required, just big old piece of cardboard, my friend did one side while i did the other.

Tip1: the big bars/brackets are labeled with P(Passenger) and D (Drivers) with C(Center), F(Front) etc...

Tip2: organize all the parts/screws/bolts ahead of time and label the bag with a note (10mm etc) and the install will go much faster -- i put them into those produce bags to separate the different sizes bolts / nuts / washers / lock washers by size

For those with the running board, I want to give you a "heads up"

I've I had my board installed for over a year now and everything is well but when I did my brake pads this weekend. I just realized something that may/may not affect you.

First off. Being in the NE, I did notice that the bolts are getting rusted. I would suggest maybe checking up on them every year.

Now for the issue. For the rear side step brackets. They are mounted very close to the jack point for the rear. So if you do have to use the factory jack for emergency and are trying to get the car up using the suggest jack point, you won't be able to. The bracket will have to be removed first.

Hey guys,

Just want to give back to the sources that help me put up my running boards for the 2016 QX60. It had senors and all and everything was able to fit. Just a simple write up:

Purchase my parts from the following:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HLPSBL2/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A1HODU090BD5T8
Sold by AutoMaxStyling

The following video helped alot:

I did have to grind down 8 of the pieces to make it fit into the frame. Each part is labeled so that made the assembly very easy. 2 washers didn't fit, but after the installation I realized there were additional bolts, washers etc in a small ziplock bag in the package, so make sure you unpack and get everything.

Over all, took about 4 hours and no issues, and I think it looks awesome. Thanks for all the information on this thread to get things going!

thanks for the tip.

I've gone underneath
and put some silicon grease on each of the bolts / nuts and threads to keep them rust free.

also yeah,
i'm gonna have to buy a spare socket/wrench to keep in the trunk as spare in case we ever need to jack it up

I wanted to share a couple of photos of my ride after installing the running boards.
I got these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HLPSBL2
Had them installed at Pep Boys as I didn't have the time to dedicate to it myself (and I usually get it "done" by scratching things here and there).
Look great (to me) and they work well.

Hello everyone,

I'm halfway done with the install and wanted to ask those with running boards installed if they noticed that the rear end of the running boards appears to hang lower on the driver's side? That's the side I have installed so far. I just wanted to know whether i need to go back and re-adjust everything to make it level.

Thanks

Hello! For us, we did notice there was some hanging here and there but yes, we went back and adjusted the brackets so that they would look level throughout. For me, I was a bit anal with it all so it took me a little longer as I actually used a ruler to make sure both sides were even. Haha. Good luck! :)
