Running Boards

I installed these running boards on my 2015 QX60 Hybrid last Sunday.

I ran into the same problem as Jasper with the Passenger Side Front Support Bar. Rather than leave it out entirely, I flipped it around and it was able to clear the thin black pipes (which I suspect house some wiring re: Driver Assist option on the vehicle, which is why not everyone has this problem.) I realize the steel is not as strong in this position than the intended way, but I thought it would be better than nothing. See photo.

My running boards seem to be just a bit short, but it still looks okay, since the chrome lines up pretty well with the chrome accent on the door above.

Oh, and some of the bolt plates had to be grinded down a bit to make them pass completely into the holes. Luckily, we have a power grinder on the workbench, so it was easy. But a dremmel (sp?) could do the trick, too.

Now, we're ready for my 86 year old mother-in-law next week!
I don't think yours are short.

I'm pretty sure they are designed to be used with the mud flaps.

Everyone I've seen that has the boards and the mud flaps seems to line up perfectly.

I for one wouldn't be happy if I bought running boards that required me to take my mud flaps off.
correct. i dont think they are short. they just look flushed with the mud flaps

I have driver assistant pkg as well. so dont know if those wires interfered in my install ( Dealership did it )

below are some more pics

I find it hard to believe that that 2013, 2014, and the 2015 have different body lengths.

I have a 2013 jx35, but it was a late 2013. Almost a 2014. It even have the new tranny in it even though it was a 13.

I placed the order. Hopefully it's the right length, because if it's that long on yours, it won't fit on mine with the mud flaps on it.
Mine was 2013 JX35 built on June 2013. I have the new tranny. i think you should be fine

Mayoo,

Good to see that yours is fitting perfectly. Just curious, do you have mud guard at the front?

For mine, I push the running board as close to the front mud guard as possible. But, still stick out a bit at the rear.
Yes i have mud guard at front. ill post better pics shortly ..

I'm planning on purchasing a QX60 tomorrow and with 3 younger kids (and myself only being 5'2") running boards are extremely useful! Installing is not a project I can do myself whatsoever - has anyone had the dealership do it and how much did it cost? I don't think I can work anything else into my deal! Or should I take it to our auto mechanic or auto body shop?

TIA!
$350 CDN At Dealership

Picked up the running boards at buffalo. I do have to unpack the box to fit it in the trunk because I have 4 passengers and luggage.

I check with at least 4 mechanics shops at buffalo and none is willng to install the running boards. I finally found one that is willing to do it, he quoted me for US$540 for installing fee. He claimed that they need to 7-8 hours to install it.

I am bringing it home to Canada now. I will try to do it myself in the next couple days.

For those whom did the self installation, do you have to jack up the car for installation? Or, is there enough room for you to craw under the car to do it? Also, what kind of tools do I need (wrench only or more)
Glad to hear that you were able to fit it on the SUV

Mayoo,

You just get me a good idea. I will do the same.

I checked, there is a mechanic shop named "Good Guys Automotive & Transmissions". This place is 7 minutes away from my mailbox pickup area. They even offer shuttle bus to outlet mall.

Since this is only running board installation. I figure they are not likely to mess it up too badly. :) If I ended up doing it first, I will share my experience with you.
Thanks

Apparently "You will be missing two sets of bolts, nuts and washer" so let me know if that happens to you .. you just need to head down to HD

yeah i am going to remove the box for sure .. its matter of fitting 6ft on the side ..

If anyone know any place to install around that area please let me know .

I am not trying to save tax or avoid customs here. we are staying in Rochester for night so we can literally bring back about $800 worth of items ..

nismosr, Mayoo,

Thanks for the reply. I am planning to ship it to Buffalo US (using one of the US Mailing address). I just want to make sure it can fit into my Qx60 trunk. I believe QX60 can handle 72 inches box.

Jasper.
If you are going alone, then with closed seats you should be able to fit..

let me know cause my situation is bit difficult... i am going to try to fit with 6 ppl sititng .. wish me luck .

Thanks for sharing. I finally found something on the Amazon.ca. Yes, they are willing to ship to Canada.

Can you help me verify if this is the same as yours?
