The common QX60 transmission issue everyone hears about is startup/low-speed shutter, not what you describe. Also, the cornering issue typically isn't tranny related.

I recommend getting another diagnostic from someone else to confirm.

Thanks, I got the diagnostic from 2 local mechanic, 1 from mr transmission. I think I'll just dish out 250$ for a full diagnostic from the dealer.

FYI just got a quick answer from online mechanic... "Understood, so unfortunately it sounds like they are right. CVT failure was very common on this era of Infiniti/Nissan and when they start to fail they cause a noise like you describe at higher RPMs. It would be worth getting a little more in depth like checking fluid level/condition and live data from the transmission as you drive but I do suspect that this is a mechanical issue here unfortunately.
