Right now I'm at 4000 miles and just wondering when do you change the oil? Is it around 7k? I thought you get a reminder to change the oil?

Thxs
Unless you tell the center console to remind you (under the maintenance function), you won't have a reminder.

The printed maintenance guide says either 3,500 or 7,000 depending on which plan you choose to follow. Dealership will always recommend the lower side, however the manufacturer will typically recommend the higher side unless you're an abnormal driver (e.g. excessive driving, daily dirt roads, etc...)

Don't buy the 3k oil change hype.

I was told every 5000 miles and that they use semi synthetic. After my one free oil change I'm just going to do full synthetic changes, semi is a complete waste imo.

My dealer in Canada sets the reminder to 6000 kms (approx 3800 miles). For my free oil changes they used regular oil and I have now put I synthetic with intention of going 6200 miles or one year

never had issues with that length and synthetic Much better cold start in minus 25 lol

Thxs folks for the information. shoot for 5K.
its cool that I can get it service at any Nissan dealers too. I don't have local dealership that is highly recommend, nearest is 25 miles and Nissan is only 6 miles from my house.

Do you recommend taking to Nissan dealership or Infinity?

My experience is to take the Infiniti to your Infiniti dealership when you have quality issues, recalls or warranty. Unless they can match the price of your Nissan dealership since you live far from Infiniti, I'd take it to Nissan for general maintenance. I do like the level of service I get at Infiniti however. In my case, I just don't like the continuous turnover in my dealership's staff. It doesn't make me feel warm and fuzzy.

For general maintenance service, I will take it to Nissan dealer because the nearest Infiniti dealer has a bad reviews on their service dept. The recommend dealer is about 25 miles out.

I'm for going to the Infiniti Service, the guys are great and the lounge is perfect for waiting. The Nissan service area (at least the one closest to me) is like a Chevy dealership. Kids screaming, TV on MSNBC too loud. Worth the extra $$. IMO.

My dealer instructed me to bring it in for service at 1500KM ~ 1000Mi to swap out the "engine training" oil... I thought we're a decade past that, no?
Anyway, I searched the manual and the internet and couldn't find anything about a service at 1000 Miles. But I'm afraid to skip. Thoughts?

Is the dealer paying for that first oil change? If so, great. Otherwise, I'd wait until 8-10,000KM

We were recommended to do the first change at 5K miles or 6 months. Not sure whether the oil is regular, semi-synthetic or synthetic.

In my Jeep, I always use synthetic and change every 4K to 5K miles -- but, I like my jeep better than I like my wife's Infiniti.
