Just use the same weight as recommended and you'll be fine whether it be dino oil, semi synthetic of full synthetic. Going full synthetic is always the best option for protection and longevity. If you plan on keeping the car for a long time I'd say switch. For those who trade every (give or take) 3 years, it's not worth the extra money IMO since you're getting rid of the car anyways.

I spoke to the dealership today, supposedly they use "infiniti branded conventional oil" which doesnt have the fillers that normal conventional oil do.. although it is NOT a synthetic.
I would have thought luxury vehicles such as infinitis would all run synthetic oil...

car makers don't make oil. they buy from oil company. or they order them to produce oil according to the specs. (additives). you can use any type of oil you wish to use as long as the specs. is the same. read the owners manual.
full synthetic oil is better than conventional oil. (under extreme conditions like heat or cold). regardless the type of oil you use. you must change it regularly.
(oil is cheap. The engine is expensive). you know what i mean.
BTW. whatever the dealer tell you. don't listen to them

I'm a big Mobil 1 fan.
3000, 5000, 7500 miles will depend on oil type and driving condition. I see extended oil but I would not go any longer than 10K. Extreme temps and dusty intake air calls for 3 to 5k oil changes. Use quality oil and Filters... The most important thing is be consistent.

I agree with using synthetic even if you trade-in your vehicle every 3 years, I've done so and only changed my oil like 2-3 times in the 3 year leases I've had. Another benefit of synthetics is more horse power, cooler running engine in the heat and lower temp protection up to 60 below zero Fahrenheit, also better MPG. I use the recommended grade from Infiniti, the QX60 calls for 0W20, mostly to get better MPGs cause the thinner the oil the faster it circulates and protects, and the better the gas mileage. Mobil is good but if you can get Amsoil it may be better, it all comes down to what the oil base stock is, and all oils use different ones. Some are synthesized petroleum, with complex molecular structures that can degrade and breakdown causing build up of sludge in the engines (for example Mobil1,and generally all oil company manufacturers of their own synthetics) , others (like Amsoil) use proprietary synthetic blends of lab made chemicals that make the oil more stable and the compounds they are made from have a simpler molecular make up that makes their film strength stronger, and any sludge build up non-existent; the example I use is if you compare the molecular structure of a diamond its simple is pure carbon, and that's what makes it the strongest substance known to man. Likewise if you make a lubricant of simple bonded chemical molecules, that lubricant will be stronger to protect the metals engines are made of better. But, as long as you use some type of synthetic it will be better than conventional oil every time.

I've tried a variety of oils and brands over the years (Pennzoil, Castrol, Mobil 1, generic, Royal Purple, etc.) and have settled on Motul Econergy 5W30. It's a fully synthetic ester oil.
On my 2015 QX60, I used Royal Purple for the longest, giving a bit more pep that even my wife noticed after the first time I put it in, but, the engine was still what I call "chatty."
Ester oil is recommend for the VQ37VHR engines that are found in several other Infiniti models. Speaking to techs, reason being is the esters cause the VVEL system to not be so chatty, especially on cold start-up.
So, I used it in my Q40 (which I no longer have) and on my QX60. The result was a noticeably smoother running engine in both vehicles. The Q40, after full warm up, was so quiet at idle that you couldn't tell it was running unless you were standing next to it.
The only vehicles currently in the Infiniti lineup that require synthetic are the new turbo engines. Nothing else yet.
BTW, I became a firm believer in synthetic when I used to use it in my beat up 98 Sentra. Went to have the timing chains done as preventative maintenance (85k on the engine at the time) and the tech told me the inside of the engine was so clean, it looked almost new.
You definitely get what you pay for. Pops always told me: an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
