Anyone have experience hauling a trailer with a weight of 4,500 - 4,800 pounds? The QX60 is supposed to be able to handle up to 5,000 pounds.

Should work fine. I have a client towing a decent sized camper no problem. You will find that the profile of the trailer makes a difference. If its square in the front a notably taller than the QX60, you'll get a fair amount of wind resistance/drag when accelerating or going faster.

Also, remember to try to load the trailer correctly. Too much tongue weight and you'll really compress the back end of the QX60.

It depends on the year and model of your QX60. Is it AWD, FWD, Hybrid? These things matter and towing 5,000+ pounds in an SUV (2014 QX60) rated for 3,500 pounds of towing capacity will do your engine and transmission a huge disservice. Is your vehicle loaded too? Adjust your calculations according. Read your manual and don't assume...
