2015 QX60 Hybrid with 2500 miles on it. My wife had to make a hard brake to avoid an accident. The car stalled on her. We took it to the dealer and Infiniti tech line told us this was normal operation for CVT transmission. WHAT???

you should ask that tech to go back to grade school
no vehicle should stall regardless of the trany
My hybrid has stalled on me like 3 times now, but it was shortly after startup, say within 30 seconds. Yep, this coupled with the sluggishness/hesitation to accelerate from a stop/rolling stop, dead battery two times, passenger airbag light still staying lit when someone is in the passenger seat even after the recall (just to name a few annoyances all of which the dealer can do nothing about) have me waiting to trade this vehicle in. Shame, I enjoy the interior size, materials and all that but it is one heck of a poorly executed hybrid and it is plagued with too many troubles a vehicle with a sticker of $60k loaded should not have.

Paradox,

I'm curious, how did the 3 stalls you've experienced in your hybrid differ from the normal start - stop operation? I haven't had any problems with my hybrid. Now that I've finally escaped LA, my ave MPG has jumped 3-4 MPG. For March and April, I've averaged 23.1 and 23.6 MPG respectively. (FUELLY)
Once while stopping at a light when the engine shut down it did not do so like a normal engine shutdown for start/stop. It sputtered as if wanting to stop yet start over and over, eventually shutting down. When I lifted my foot off the brake to accelerate the engine would not start. I had to shut the car down and restart for the car to go, thankfully it did.

Twice more after starting and waiting for the RPMs to drop (I tend to do this as it only takes 10-15 seconds anyway when the engine is cold) I went into Drive and the engine sputtered same as above and konked out. These times it did start again after I went into Park and then Drive again.
