First time poster but I have lurking for a while. Now I have seen members talked about their QX having some transmission shudders and I just want to let you guys know that mine just had that issue yesterday. Actually my wife was the one driving the QX60 when it happened and she said it scared her to death. With our 2 young kids at the back ,she felt a huge shudder at low speeds. Took the car to dealer and they called us that they will repair/ change the transmission. My concern is are they going to replace it with a new or refurbished one? Sorry for the long post ( first one at that ). Any of you guys still experience the shudder?

Thanks for your reply mattreading22. I will try to call the dealership tomorrow. The last time my wife spoke with them , they said they're waiting a reply from Infiniti to go ahead with the repair.

I will definitely. In fact the service guy said the repair will be done by Monday. They gave us another QX60 as a loaner. Funny thing is me and wife felt a little shudder on low RPM's with our loaner QX60.i don't know what's going on with Infiniti quality control.

How old is your QX60? If it's new, I'm curious as to why it's happening because I thought they fixed the problem.. or if it's old, why its happening now.

I'd normally agree regarding your concern about a refurb transmission, however keep in mind that a local mechanic that takes his time pulling the tranny apart, replaces all the parts, re-installs it can do a better job than someone on the assembly line that's shoving one part in as quickly as they can, not responsible for the full rebuild.

My QX60 is about 5 months old. I was thinking the same thing when I bought my car that all transmission issues were already resolved but I guess not. As I said before, the loaner QX60 that I'm driving right now has a little shudder at low RPM's in which my wife also noticed. It doesn't happen all the time, but it's noticeable. Just hoping that they will fix it right.

Just got a text message from my that our car is ready. The service advisor said that they put in a new transmission. I'll report back as soon as I can on how it feels to drive with the new transmission.

I was experiencing some shudder at approx 18mph and 1,100 rpm once in a while, but got the Transmission Control Module (TCM) re-programmed last week under a TSB / ITB and haven't felt it since..

Last time when I went to service department with shudder issue, they said couldn't able to reproduce it. from past 1 month I felt it regularly and noticed its happening at low RPM around 1000 and 15 to 25 mile range. Last week took it to dealer this time Tech people felt the shudder and re-programmed( not sure what they did) and said it will fix the issue but it did not, I felt the shudder on same day and took it back to dealer. they were able to re-produce the issue. Finally they are changin the transmission now (its in their garage). I will update the status after getting it back

I have a 2014 QX60 with 25,000 miles on it. (one of the first cars off the line) First noticed the "judder" at about 20,000 miles. Seems to happen at slow steady acceleration that is more violent when going up a hill. I have called the dealership and was told that they would install some sort of monitor that would go to Infinity for their decision. The judder is hard to duplicate and only occurs intermittently.. Said they would call me back.

MY 2014 QX60 started the shudder at about 5,000 miles and I am now on transmission #3 . I have opened a case with Infiniti. Should know next week but just want them to buy me out. I love the car, but don't want to go thru the hassle again. They have been great though and I always had a loaner car. I will probably be going back to Lexus.

Took my QX60 to the dealership. Said that they had seen three other QX60's with the judder problem two of them were on their second transmission. Said they would install a monitor and try to duplicate the problem. The data would be sent to Infinity for approval to replace the transmission with a new one. (not a rebuild). Will post more on where this leads me.

Hi, I got my vehicle back today and as per tech/work order they replace transmission (new one). I just drove 10 miles from dealer to home need to check tomorrow whether shudder gone or not ..
I'am little confused even for 10 mile drive the engine is too hot I can feel it after sopping it also (felt some lubrication is missing). I did called service department he said that's fine unless there are no warnings in the car no need to worry... is it true? or do I need to get it back and re-check it

Thanks

I have a QX60 - manufacture date 5/14 - so very recent. Today, after traveling some time on the freeway (maybe 7 miles) I slowed down due to traffic on a bit of an incline, going about 20 ...and here comes the dreaded "shudder/judder" - I kept it going for a quite a while, at 20 at the shudder was consistent. Taking it to the dealer on Monday. I had a Pathfinder 2013, with the shudder - I got rid of it, and gave Infiniti a chance, and now have the shudder again. Hope they fix it....will update all when I know more.
