Hi guys,


I got a new QX60 recently, but when I start it in the morning the rpm needle fluctuates a little while the engine warms up. Is that a serious problem?

I've never noticed a significant fluctuation on the JX other than if the AC is on and it kicks on or off while idling. Unless its all over the place, I wouldn't worry about it.

I will see this sometimes when we start a vehicle in the cold. You shouldn't worry about it unless it is very aggressive and continues to do it when the vehicle is warm.

I'd worry. I'm pretty sure the car is about to explode.

Have you had the chance to take it into your dealer as yet or even called them up about it?

I have not yet. I just want to know if it is a common issue in all QX60s. Mine has only 20 miles on it, that is why I got worried about it

Yes, it happens all the time on a cold start, so nothing to be worried about. You can take it into the dealer, but you will just be wasting your time. If it does it violently, or when the vehicle is warm and at idol, then you may want to watch it. Other than that, enjoy the new QX!
