Hello folks,

I am new to this forum, always owned Honda's and Toyota's. Wanted to give a little upgrade to myself :) , i really like 2014 QX 60. However Consumer reports, Edmunds and JD Power didn't give good ratings on 2014 QX60. I wanted to get some feedback from people who have actually been using 2014 QX60. I am looking for thoughts on overall reliability, maintenance cost, comfort etc. Thanks in advance.

I have a 2014 QX60. So far I have had no issues @ 53k miles. Due for brake pads shortly, and I put on new tires about 5k ago. Love the comfort, and maintenance costs are about average for oil changes & tire rotations, etc.

I called couple good Infiniti service dealers and they said on 2014 QX 60 there is a recall on transmission, they just have to update the software and should be good. Per him there has been less than 10 vehicles in 6 months with shuddering issue.

That's helpful to know. I am also (still) looking to get a used 2014 with low miles, but am concerned about the transmission issues. Couple that with the fact that the original warranty on these would be expiring starting late 2017 (assuming non CPO).

we purchased our ex lease return one last August 2016 and so far so good...comfortable, smooth drive, decent enough power (I still like the MDX but like the fact that this can take regular gas with gas prices so high on the west coast of Canada).

Gas wise / fuel efficienct, it's ok -- our first SUV... we are coming from a 2006 Jetta 2.0T Turbo and 2010 Camry Hybrid so it's costing us more for sure.

This week, we just did the recall (software update to the CVT) *knock wood* haven't had the transmission shudder issues people have had.

at first we thought there was a transmission issue ... but after research it wasn't: what we observed / noticed is the rpms go up during slow downhill coasting (pedal not on throttle) but found out it's a CVT engine braking instead of you doing the braking.

other thing you might notice is a minor whine...= power steering pump is electric and dealer says it's within spec, i'm going to try to get it warrantied since we have till 2018 as it's a CPO warranty.

other than that, it's a great vehicle for hauling the family.

Also I like the middle row that you can just popup both seats to give more floor room to put some groceries in on the floor so you don't always have to pop the trunk hatch

I love my 2014 QX60 it's really comfortable and about average when it comes to maintenance cost i guess, The trans recall is just a software update for the computer that controls the transmission and recalls never expire they are valid until they are complete.
