QX60 recall

The recall is being issued because of an issue with the anti-lock braking system that can cause the system to malfunction while braking lightly on rough roads. The defect could "cause customers to experience stopping distances that are longer than customer's expectation for the given pedal force. This may increase a risk of crash."

Nissan first became aware of the problem in May when a Canadian dealer reported the issue.
153,000 SUVs are being recalled, no word on what the breakdown is between JX/QX60 and pathfinder.

Actually its probably all of them. '13 Pathfinder has moved 74,740 vehicles between US and Canada, while JX/QX60 has moved 25,100 vehicles for MY '13 for a total of 99,840 vehicles, meaning the residual 53,160 vehicles must be '14 MY. So yea, ALL of them.
usually there would be a specific production range of it was just only a select amount.
sucks to hear it's all of them, Nissan/Infiniti dealers will be very busy for a while.
its more or a preventive recall.

most people going in probably won't even have the problem.
It seems like a pretty particular situation that the fault comes to light. It's never a good feeling when you are trying to stop and the brakes just don't seem that responsive. It's definitely a good idea to get this taken care of. Good that no crashes or accidents have occurred because of this though.
I haven't really read of anyone complaining about the brakes either.
I haven't heard from any clients having problems with their brakes. If it were me, I'd just have your dealer take care of it next time you're in for an oil change.

FYI, recall even applied to brand new stock in inventory. We can't sell QX60's until we update them.

I'm on a 10,000 mile trip to the east coast and just hit 19k on the JX without a single problems with the brakes. We've been through about 25 hours of drining rain, wind and snow through the Plains states and midwest and haven't experienced brake issues other than the DCA kicking off during the worst weather. Also, we had 90 percent brake pads prior to leaving on the trip which was a real plus. If we experience any brake recall related issues on the balance of the trip, I'll report it.

I guess you happened to get one of those problem-free QX/JX's, or just one without the brake problem. Keep us posted on how things go, hopefully nothing bad happens.
I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop, but we've had such good luck with all our Nissan products over the years, I'm optomistic that this car is Not going to give me much trouble.
not everyone has problems with their JX. Most of them are problem free. Most owners I know including myself have no problems with it. But the owners who have problems are likely going to go on the internet to talk about it.

This is true. I know some JX/QX60 owners that dont have any complains and these are people who would know if there's any issue with their cars. Some people just don't know much about cars and wont pick up on issues as quick as someone who does.
The affected 2014 Infiniti QX60 vehicles were manufactured from January 17, 2013, through September 20, 2013, respectively.

Interesting. IMO, probably not a big deal for us. We plan to have this no-charge service performed when we next have the engine oil changed.
