In case you hasn't heard, the Infiniti QX60 Hybrid was recently axed. The model had lacklustre sales and was described by drivers as underpowered and really not that efficient.

So, on the heels on that decision, Infiniti has decided to really push the regular version of the QX60. The aim, I assume, is to squeeze as many sales as possible out of the model before the company changes its focus to producing the next-generation of the vehicle.

To that end, Infiniti has come out with a brand new ad that cross promotes the new movie Vacation and the QX60, which is the sequel to the much beloved National Lampoon's Family Vacation.


In case you don't quite get it, this is a play on an iconic scene from the original movie. And in the original movie Christis Brinkley (the wife in this ad) was the hot blonde in the Ferrari. Here's the original scene to jog your memory.


Wonder how many people will buy the QX60 because of this ad? Thoughts?

It's smart marketing, back to school is one big time for sales, quite a lot of industries jump over it much like they do with christmas, but of course not with the same aggressive approach.
