QX60 commerical focuses on saving you from backing into things

Infiniti is promoting its QX60 in a new commercial that focuses on its backup collision intervention technology. This technology stops you from backing into things, which could be helpful, but most of the time I hope that people wouldn't need to use this safeguard to stop them from hitting things.

It detects crossing vehicles and objects behind the vehicle and, when necessary, will automatically engage the brakes to help avoid a collision. Infiniti tells us not expect BCI to detect every object, especially in situations where you're backing up at considerable speed. But it's an extra layer of safety that's nice to have.
What do you think? Is the backup collision intervention system a big selling point for you?

I actually sold one of these this last weekend strictly because of this commercial. I think it is a good thing that they are advertising something that other manufacturers don't have until you get up into $100k+ vehicles.
^ Ya I think it is one of the more important safety features on the SUV that no other manufacturer in the price range has. When I did my test drive it was demonstrated to me and I remember seeing it in a commercial a while back but I think Infiniti would definitely benefit from advertising this a bit more.

I already do free advertising for Infiniti everytime I have friends in the car :D I get a kick out of showing them all the neat features. Its not easy convincing my friends to casually walk behind the car as I'm backing up LOL
Agree - the BCI, DCA and IBA are nice features especially for a family SUV of this size.
It's one of the reasons we purchased the QX60 over some competing models.
And yes, the BCI has been activated more then once when we back out in a busy parking lot with a noisy car full of 4 kids....

I remember growing up when pop was teaching me to drive he took me to the mall parking lot and said ok drive around backwards. Turned around looking through the rear window (pickup) or using the mirrors (moms).

I'm faster than the system ;) Cool if you like it...
