Hi. I am about to purchase a 2014 or 2015 QX60 in the next three days. I initially thought about purchasing a 2014 with Premium, Premium Plus, and Driver Assistance, because Premium Plus has sonar sensors.

Now with 2015, I noticed that Driver Assistance Package also comes with sonar sensors, not requiring Premium Plus. But the issue is that Premium doesn't seem to have Bluetooth audio streaming function.

1. Is this true that only Premium Plus comes with Bluetooth audio streaming from smart phones?

2. I don't really need a navigation and thought around view monitors are a bit distracting during the test-drive. Do you get used to around view monitors?

Thank you for reading this.

You will need to have both premium and premium plus to get drivers assist regardless. The Premium plus will come with corner sonars, but the driver assist will give you two more in both the front and the back for your collision systems.

1. Bluetooth audio is in the premium plus package, yes. You do have phone capabilities without the premium plus, but no wireless audio streaming.

2. The around view monitor is there to make maneuvering easier, so I am not sure how it was distracting? It will not be allowed to stay on while you are actually driving if that is something you were wondering about. It will take a little bit of time to get used to since there are not many vehicles equipped with it. Once you get used to it though, you will love it. I would say this is probably one of my clients' favorite features in any of our vehicles.

I would highly suggest getting a 2014 in the drivers assist, because it will probably be cheaper than a premium plus 2015 even though it is a more expensive vehicle. Hope this helps!

Yes, that could be it as well. We get different vehicles than ones in the south. I personally like the premium plus, but it is all personal preference, so asking on a forum may not be the best advice. I would go look at both and see if the difference is worth it to you.

I'll be less diplomatic. You're a fool if you get this car w/out Premium plus. Around view monitor is awesome. Navigation is so much better than trying to use your phone. Premium, Premium Plus and Drivers Assist is the minimum configuration I recommend to clients. Six months from now you won't feel the financial difference between the two, and you'll be so much happier with the car.

Matt and I go through this with clients all the time. Be smart and be the beneficiary of our experience. I'd be more polite about it if you were in the showroom and take you through all the reasons, but please just take our word for it. You'll be happy you did.

If dealers near you ordered cars that way, it was only to accommodate stupid, cheap clients who want to see the lowest, most bare-bones price. Those clients are never the ones who come back and tell me how happy they are with their car and the deal they got. The happy ones spend a little more money and get a luxury car with luxury and safety appointments.

I love Sinecure's response and I'm not a salesman. After driving several Infiniti loaners, which all were basic cars without most of the bells and whistles, I really don't think I'd spend the money on a base model luxury vehicle. Once you've driven a fully loaded Infiniti and can see the differences, I don't think you'd be satisfied with the basic model.

Infiniti is just greedy that they make consumers spend $3k just to get the bluetooth. We know how much bluetooth costs these days!

No, you should blame it on the dealer. I've gotten so wealthy off you spending that much just for bluetooth.

Oh, wait, I forgot, there are about 20 other features that come along with it. Those include hardware as well. Cameras, seat heaters, all sorts of stuff.

You sir, probably want one of these. Super cheap and don't worry about crashing it - you won't be around afterwards.

I know this is an old thread, but for the sake of others who may read this later....I agree with those who have said that Premium, Premium Plus, and Driver Assist is the minimum. I just bought a QX60 with all of that, and the Deluxe Tech Package (I wanted the cooled seats, and Prevention safety features), but NO Theatre package (kids are grown, don't need it). I must say I am very pleased. I *probably* could have done without the Deluxe Package, but I don't regret getting it. The bigger wheels/tires look terrific, and all the prevention features are terrific. I did turn off the lane prevention braking system as it was getting annoying. But I dread the day I have to drive a loaner without all of my features!
