It's never supposed to "auto" close on it's own. I'm assuming you're saying it auto-closes if you leave it open for 30 minutes.
However, if you're asking if it's possible to stop the rear gate from closing while mid-motion, there are three ways:
- Press the remote rear-gate button
- Press the interior rear-gate button
- Use your hands to stop the gate, and it will auto reverse
Not sure this is the problem but we had these issues. They tried to change everything and it did not help. Finally they were told to update some software in a control module and that fixed it. It was software, in our case, and not hardware.
does it open all the way and then goes down right away ? if it is you just need to reset it. what you do is press any button to open the trunk once it's all the way up
stop it with your hand, now set how high you want the trunk to go up, once you have that set - press and hold the trunk button for a good 5sec till you hear a beep.then your are good to go. hope this helps
