Anyone having this problem? I have brought it in 3 times for this issue. Service claims they have changed all parts involved per their service recommendations (there was a recall on the system) and I still have the light coming on. :(

They had to replace the entire seat bottom for mine to work properly - anything tried prior to that including the recall service didn't solve the problem.

Apparently they had to consult the head tech office in Toronto to find a solution (although replacing the seat bottom was a guess since they had replaced everything else at that point)

I have the same issue but intermittent with adults. However when my 13 year daughter who weights about 90 lbs sit in the front passenger seat, the air bag light always comes on. This does not happen with my other cars; a Toyota and a Mercedes. The dealership supposedly did a recalibration but still not fixed the issue.

As most of my family are 105lb and less I was always told that the sensor will only detect someone that it over a certain weight. In my case that light is mostly on when they are sitting in the front.

"automakers must meet a performance standard that in a frontal collision the airbag protects a crash dummy that represents a “5th percentile female” and weighs about 108 pounds. Passenger-side airbags should be turned on when seat sensors detect an occupant of this weight or greater"

Not sure what the right official answer is though.

Food for thought.

^I'm pretty sure the owner's manual says the minimum weight is about ~35lbs??

Infiniti Qx60 Seat Sensor issue

I have 2014 QX60, air bag off light started glowing after just 1month of purchase, informed service center and they checked and found that it has latest software installed and no need of any calibration. I was told that since my wife's weight is in margin thats why its glowing. I told them that then it should glow when she is sitting in other infiniti cars or other nissan cars. After driving it like that for almost 10k miles during Zak tag servicing i again brought it to their notice and got another 2014 QX60 as loner vehicle and showed it to them that its not glowing, so its not a model, year specific but its particularly with my vehicle only. Its been 2 weeks and yesterday service advisor told me that they have found issue with the seat sensor and replacing it. Today i got a call that its been replaced, going to pick it up, will update here how it goes.

2013 JX35 Airbag issue

I have read all of the complaints on this as well. Infiniti will do nothing, but thumb their nose at you. We have owned our JX since December 2013. At first they said it needed "calibration". So we took it in for the recall. It didn't stop. We took it back in and they said they were going to change the seat out. So they did that. My daughter is 14 and about 110 pounds. My wife is about 125 pounds. I would say 40% of the time, the airbag light illuminates indicating that the passenger airbag is off. We've taken it in at least 10 times. On one occasion, Infiniti schedule for an "expert" to come do an evaluation. He came in and here's what he said... "Airbags don't necessarily improve safety, it's really the seatbelts that save lives". Since my wife and daughter are on the "fringes" of the unstated weight, they have to sit in the seat with both feet flat on the ground, square in the middle and oh yeah, we can't have anything in the seatback pockets or under, around, or on the seat, since that could throw off the calibration. What!!!?? At any rate, we still have the issue. Every time we take it in, they say they "can't duplicate it". We have now taken over 100 videos of the light being on while the seat is occupied. We have shown these at the dealership as well and to the technical expert. Still nothing. Bottom line - Infiniti DOES NOT CARE and won't do anything about the issue. Save your documentation and hope that your family isn't in an accident.

Please see my previous note...

Today i picked up the vehicle and tested with my wife seating on the passenger seat, we drove and now the light is not glowing, it glows for a second or two after i start the car then it goes away and does not come up. Looked at the service receipt/Invoice, they have replaced OCS Unit and OCS Sensors, they performed Zero point Reset to Resolve.

If you can bring it again to your dealer/Service advisor then ask them to contact Crest Infiniti of Plano, TX, they should be able to tell what exactly was done to fix it. I will post again if the light comes up in future till then keeping my fingers crossed. Hope you all can get your car fixed.
