Should the 2014 QX60s that are purchased in December have the most current Navigation updates? I am asking because I just found out that I do not have the most current version and when I asked the sales person at the dealership at the time of purchase he told me it was the most current. I just purchased my vehicle in December.

How do you know it isn't the most current? Just because the date is a little old, doesn't mean there's anything newer available. Navteq provides the data to Infiniti. Infiniti doesn't ship cars with outdated info unless there's isn't something more up to date available from Navteq.

Then again, it could be that the salesperson out and out lied to you. Because we do that all the time. We live for it. It is what warms the cockles of our hearts.

I called infinti/Nissan and read the current version per what was displayed on my navigation screen. They told me a new version came out October 2014 and my version i have is not the most current.

Bob, I'd wait two or three years. They just don't make many changes. Unless you live in a place with a ton of new development.

How do you purchase the navigation map updates? My QX60 is two years old and it's time. I was wondering if anyone has done this recently for their QX60? Also, how many DVDs are there, and how long did it take? I'd appreciate any helpful information you could provide.

Here is the latest DVD version (x9).

If that link doesn't work, try this

Looks like 2016 is the year for me since DFW just finished a few major projects.
So if the current version is x9 can one assume the older version is x8? How does this translate to the gen4 5.1 mentioned above?

Thank you Yeller. This is the site I had went to looking for the update. I was wondering if it could be purchased from a local dealer. I was in Dallas last weekend and I-30 near the George Bush Tollway was not on my map. I travel through there quite a bit, and decided it was time. In my previous Infinities, I definitely did not do them every year. My '08 G35 had to be purchased as a download and installed at the dealership. It was much more expensive.

The updates are several (5-6) disks and you can probably get a dealer to get it and install it for you. Takes over 90 minutes, if I remember, and you need to leave the car running our put it on a battery charger for the entire time - it will kill the battery if you don't.

I'm getting ready to order the DVDs for the navigation update for my 2014 QX60, my dealership doesn't stock them. When I called the dealership, they charge $130 to install them, which I think is outrageous. I'm just curious from anyone who has updated their maps with the DVDs.... I've already heard you have to leave the engine running, but do you have to stay with the process, change to the next DVD when prompted? Also, I'm assuming you don't lose any of your address book during the process. Did you have any problems that I should look for. I'd appreciate any tips before I start. Thank you. :)

I paid $161.xx from HERE (the name of the map update company). It comes with all the discs and the paperwork has the install code so you do not have to take it to a dealer to have them installed. Just follow the directions and enter the installation code and go through the process. This is why I would like to have my next vehicle with CarPlay to avoid having to do map updates. So annoying.
