1) How accurate is the built-in navigation? I noticed that it does route well BUT the estimated time is way off. Is this the case for you as well?

2) The sound quality of the OEM wireless headphones is not that good with noticeable noise. Are mine defective or this is normal?

I find the navigation to be very accurate. Remember, that the ETA is based on whatever setting you have for average MPH (buried somewhere in the settings screen), so, for example, if you're driving faster than what is set you will arrive sooner than what the computer is calculating.

I just returned from vacation having down a round trip to Florida from Ohio and found that it was pretty spot on.

As for the headphones, I've never used them as I'm always driving, but my kids haven't complained. Though during the Florida drive, one of the headphones was configured wrong and I heard one of them complaining about noise. Her sister caught that the headphone was set to the driver side screen and she was watching the passenger screen. When they flipped the switch on the headphone to the "R" position, it worked fine.

Note, even if the numbers are what you drive, there is still a problem when the system thinks a particular road is of a different type. For example, a 4 hour trip I often make is estimated at 5.5 hours for the main road we take is a state highway with a 65 mph speed limit, but the system thinks it's a "main road" (which has a maximum speed of 50 mph... dumb, what is Infiniti thinking?) So it's always very far off. Nothing I can do to fix it.

Well, this is exactly what I encountered yesterday for a 45 min short trip that was estimated for 90 mins. This is why I posted the question.

I played with Settings and adjusted the speed limits, it seems to be a lot better. The default was too low for actual speed limits.

You can change the estimated time of arrival

Go into your Nav settings and adjust speed assumptions for Freeway, Highway, etc... I set mine at 70mph on the Freeway and that seems to have helped create a more accurate time. (thanks dgchurch from jxforums)

I just got back from a 2K roadtrip with a friend that drove a Ford. His f150 had a nav that was horrible. The interface was top down view, the graphics were poor. POI's was limited, and worst, the nav system exited early on a number of destinations causing his routs to be longer. There's always a better way to arrive somewhere, however as long as the Nav system takes the guess work out than it's worth it to me.

You can buy replacement headphones from Amazon (linked below), however I doubt they'll be much better. I'm not sure IR is the best way to transfer audio. IR bandwidth is small.

But, yeller, if the nav thinks you are not on an interstate, then the maximum speed your can set for "major road" is 50 so it will not be accurate when you go on such a road with a 65 mph limit.

Does yours show and actual ETA? Mine only shows the "minutes remaining to destination" and makes *me* do the calculation to what time that will be.
