Obviously, I CAN'T post my LED install as through numerous tries...they will not post. So, i just wanted to show you that it can be done. These are Philipps DRL's and I had to cut an inch off of the OEM "slot" to fit these in. The fit is flush and look factory.
airlaird
You did a great job with the modifications. They look great. Still can't figure out why Infiniti didn't put DRLs on to begin with. Nissan just added them to the new Rogue, so why not the QX60?
Very nice work airlaird.
Can you post a shot of front end lights at night?
Thanks!

Do you want nighttime pics of the DRL's..or the fogs? The DRL's will not go on at night. These are strictly for daytime driving and they won't come on if the headlights come on.

Can you post a few pics from far away? I'm still trying to figure out a good LED DRL solution.

I bought a pair of Audi A6 LED Lights like the ones below b/c I think the light is softer yet bright. But dang, the housing is huge. I would need to cut the bumper to install these.

Sure thing Thorin...I will take some this morning and post. Yes, those Audi ones you have look great...but they appear to have quite the curve to them. You will definitely need to cut the bumper with a dremel. Too bad you don't live in Dallas..I would gladly install them myself.

I like how it curves, these will look much better than the one's the OP posted, but even the set OP posted was still good.

Can't wait to see them installed.

How wide are those? Will they fit into the slot where airlaird put his? Does the curve match the curve of the JX35/QX60 bumper? Also, do they come with all the necessary wiring?
Geeman....(ya gotta love a Federal employee.... (like myself)..I can't speak for Thorin, but these appear to be quite angled. They would have to be be recessed into the bumper further back to hide the curvature of the lamp. It is doable but again, I would recess it. The HEIGHT of the lamp looks fine as the factory height of the slot is about an inch...so the lamp will fit...but that curvy lamp poses a small issue..

The Audi LEDs actually take up more than both of the slots and yes will require alot of space behind the bumper. I bought them on a whim from a guy that couldn't fit them onto his VW at a good discount from normal ebay sellers. It comes with wiring and such but they're just sitting on the shelf.

I saw this last night on ebay though and it's giving me other ideas now.

Oh and 2 more pics. These LEDs are more uniform compared to what Airlaird has. $80 on ijdmtoy.

Yeah...I do like the more uniform look. It appears that DRL's are going in that direction. It is a much more uniform and clean look. Wish Philips had those when I bought mine..
airlaird
Looks great airlaird! The uniform led looks great, but it seems slightly thinner and might be a task to figure out how much of a gap it may have.
Airlaird, are your LED hellas as well? according to ijdm

Available in Xenon White 6000K only
Ultra-slim design for a painless installation on most vehicles
Measured at 7.00" x 1.75" x 1.00"
In total 112 pieces high power COB LED emitters (both sides together)
"Invisible" so you won't see individual LEDs when lighting up
Extended wires provided for easier installation

Hellas are
Available in only Xenon White
10-SMD 5050 LED diodes per lamp
Basic brackets and screws are included
Dimensions; 8.0" in length, 2.5" in depth, and 1.0" in height

So height is the same, width is not. But the height could also include the bracket.

No mine are Philips. I bought mine for $135 bucks off EBAY. The Hellas are pricey...but you can't go wrong with Hella. ( My fogs are of course Hellas). My Philips were 7" long and I had to dremel an inch into the bumper slot to fit them in. If you go with the Hellas and they are 8" long......that will be a LOT of cutting. You may consider putting the LEDs inside the FRONT GRILL Slots....That may work better
airlaird
I think the audi ones are like a foot long.
Did you cut toward the outside of the bumper or the inside toward the middle?
