I can understand the "camera" being disabled while the car is moving (>5mph) but disabling the other features is a bit harsh? Why isn't my passenger allowed to use the items on the touch screen?

Is that something the dealership can disable or only way is to have to by an aftermarket thing I saw posted elsewhere? And if that is installed, does that void any warranty or cause other issues?

Most if not all cars are like this, thank lawyers and those who sue just to sue.

The dealership cannot change this for you.

If you want to do things while moving that you can't do otherwise (including your front passenger watching videos on the front screen like the rear passengers while moving), here's your best option: JX35/QX60 2013+ with Sat Nav - Car Kit Company

Some of us have done this, myself included, and have had no problems with it.

And even you suspect it caused a failure of some sort, which is highly doubtful, just take it out before bringing the car in. Worries dismissed.

just note that when the device is active, you actually deactivate the GPS effectively. Still in convenient, but better than not allowing you to use the navi.

I also think this is another way for Infiniti to get you to sign up for its Concierge service. They can help you with that.

It goes inside the dash, behind the nav unit in the open space behind it. You need to remove trim, the nav unit, climate control module etc in the center to install this. It's not hard at all, but you have to be willing to dismantle some stuff to get to it and put it back together.

I did mine months ago but never took pics, sorry.

So do you need to override the parking brake sensor and the speed sensor to display movies on the front screen or do you only need to override the parking brake sensor to do it?

The reason I ask is i believe you can set this kit up to automatically override the parking brake sensor. But you cannot set it up to automatically override the speed sensor as is disables your realtime GPS Location. Just wondering how it works in the QX60 and if you always have to manually override the Speed Sensor for it to display.

Thanks

Overriding the parking brake sensor allows the front screen use without the parking brake to be on when parked. With the kit, you can select to have this activated or not.

You need to activate the speed sensor to use it while moving. This is done with the remote fob included with the kit, or with a home link button if you program it. This is separate from the parking brake thing since it's for when the car is in motion.
