Interior vent?

I don't think this is a vent, more like an ID holder (credit cards, insurance cards, etc...). It's useless to me because it hold anything.....

Then again, do you feel air flowing from it?

Not a vent. As yeller points out, it is for receipts or cards. I keep my library card and a grocery store card there since I hate having extra stuff in my wallet.

I use it to secure my insurance card and registration.
Has worked well for me since my JX purchase in June of 2012.

I've always used these holders for temporary items...in my case parking garage tickets.

That's typically what these are for, little things like what's mentioned above. I think some people even put change in them, but really, who these days carries around change.

You can probably slot a paper map in there, as if anybody has any of those these days what with Sat Nav and all that! Haha! But you could also clip your sunnies in there, or perhaps like what @MarengoMac says - license and registration so you don't have to lean all the way over to the glove to dig that stuff out.

That's where I keep my papers as well and it makes cops feel comfortable since there's nothing you could be reaching for in the visor compared to a glove box or center storage. And it's seeming like these days being mindful of how you reach for certain things while pulled over gives you the best case scenario.
