I wanted more up-to-date car reliability information that made the differences between cars clearer. So a few years ago I started getting people together to make this possible. TrueDelta now updates actual repair frequencies, not just dots, four times a year, to track cars closely as they age.

We've had excellent participation by Infiniti owners, and I'd similarly like to provide solid stats for the QX60. Just a matter of getting enough owners involved.

Participants simply report repairs the month after they occur on a one-page survey. When there are no repairs, they simply report an approximate odometer reading four times a year, following the end of each quarter.

To encourage participation, participants receive full access to all results, not just those for the QX60, for free. I'll share results for the QX60 in this thread after each update.

We've updated our reliability stats for the Infiniti JX and Nissan Pathfinder to include owner experiences through June 30, 2013. (Another source is about 14 months behind.)

Repair frequencies, in terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year:

2013 JX and Pathfinder: 26, low (meaning few repairs)

We'll have further updates in November and February.

thats what i was just thinking.. I've been on the Pathy forum, its more like 95 cars out of 100... even people who don't have the 'judder' are taking pathys in becasue normal CVT operation gives them a judder, just not the judder that implodes your tranny ;)

cool concept though, keep us updated :D

I think people not being used to the CVT system since it was their first experience though there was a problem, making the real problem seem worse as it seems to be connected in some way. At least now it's fading away.

wouldn't it be a better idea to seperate them? since most of the pathfinder issues are likely transmission issues that don't really exist on the JX?
2013 Pathfinder owners have started to report quite a few transmission issues, so with this month's update I will be separating them. Many thanks to this forum for making sure I noticed this issue!

Do you have an update on the reliability stats? I am particularly interested in knowing what percentage of JX35/QX60 vehicles are experiencing issues, especially related to the CVT transmission. It would also be nice if it is separated by model year (2013/2014). Thanks.

We have had to split the Pathfinder and the QX60 because of the CVT issues in the former.

It's not just a matter of not being used to a CVT, as both models have a CVT. A has been discussed on this forum, the problem is a shudder that affects only the new CVT.

We've updated our reliability stats for the JX to include owner experiences through September 30, 2013.

Repair frequencies, in terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year:

2013 JX: 18, low, small sample size

2013 Pathfinder: 71, high

We'll have further updates in February and in May. The more owners participate, the more comprehensive and precise these will be.

What was the sample size since it is a "small sample size"? Are these stats for the 2013 JX35 only or do they include the 2014 QX60? Do you have stats for the 2014 QX60 only and in particular those that pertain the CVT transmission?

Thanks for any additional stats you can share.

Hi mkaresh,

I was hoping you could share some additional information since I will be in the market for a 2015 crossover. I am interested in knowing about the reliability stats for the 2014 QX60, particularly as it pertains to the CVT transmission. Do you stats for the 2014 QX60 only?

Thanks,

Eric

Same here...I'm also looking to buy a QX60. A dealer quoted me 44300 for QX60 with Premium, plus, DA and Theater packages?

IS this a good deal?

^ Is that Out the Door? Considering that if you Build that on Infiniti's website it costs almost $54k before taxes and title etc, I would say thats a good deal either way.
