Has anyone seen specs on the overall range on a tank of gas from the Hybrid vs. the Gasser QX60? I've seen specs on the size of the fuel tank for the gas version (19.5 gallons). But I haven't seen it for the hybrid. If it stays the same, then it is easy to figure the hybrid should have at least 20% better range.

I'm still looking for clarification if the QX60 will be a traditional hybrid that switches between electric and gas power, or one of these new breed hybrids that use electric in conjunction with gas ...

It says on the Infiniti website that the QX60 will get 26 mpg. Can't find info on whether the vehicle switches between electric and gas, or if it runs both at the same time. In the absence of info I would guess that it switches.

If it switches between gas and electric they usually list a range capable on electric charge only, or the speed it will travel up to before swapping to gas power. All i can find is the QX60 will have a cruising range of over 500 miles.

But going through the QX60 press release i stumbled upon something Infiniti calls Direct Response Hybrid. the electric motor assists when more power is needed, like standing starts or rolling acceleration for overtaking. DRH doesnt have a torque converter, power is sent straight to the wheels like a manual. Heres a little video for the Q50 Hybrid but the technology applies the same to QX60
