No - your QX60 should have come with the latest maps available at the time of sale. Keep in mind it is possible that some areas would still not show up on any maps update. Not the same as google maps...

^ You should find out if the maps software is the latest or not... otherwise not sure what they would even be programming...

I was called by Nissan accessory department and after examining my GPS ,told me that it's older version needing update but they will do it for free only if sales department gives go ahead, which they have not given till todate.

So are you expecting the sales department to give you approval, or are they holding out for some reason?

It doesn't seem like the craziest thing to have an out of date maps program though. Things get built over time, satellite go around and map things. It doesn't happen all instantaneously.

But... this is a pet peeve of mine... you should have the latest version at the time you take delivery of your vehicle.

I've had maps in all of my recent cars and, every time, I ask for the current maps software/firmware version. I then check it out and if not up to date, I ask about getting it. But even that's not enough as sales people will promise anything, even in writing, then get "overridden" when I try to make good on the promise, later.

I don't understand why this is so unreasonable and why it's not SOP for all dealers and auto manufacturers: I should have the latest maps at time of delivery.
