I just got a butter knife with a microfiber wrapped around the end and slipped it between the lens and headliner and gently twisted it until it popped out a bit, then used my hands to remove. I've done this many times on many a car though so I have no problems doing it. It really isn't a big deal IMO, but everyone is different. If you feel comfortable doing it, it's not hard at all.

there should be a notch somewhere on the lens for you to pop it out

just use a butter knife as paradox mentioned and pop it open on the side that does not contain the clip holding it in

you should be able to see which side has the actual joint holding it in.

When you change the 2nd row reading lights do you remove the entire housing or does the little light cover just come off?

This is the most ridiculous experience I've had with modifying a car. And I've done everything from putting a TV in the trunk of one car, to putting an Xbox 360 in the front of another, and LEDs and HID installs for days.
Yet I can't get proper fitting LEDs for the dome lights. What!

I ordered a bunch from SuperBrightLEDs, using their car finder. They suggested 194s for the dome light...which they are not. But I figured I was wrong and messed up something. Nope, their website says 194. AutoZone, CarID, and ModifiedLife, which I always rely on for bulb lists, all have it wrong. So I figured, let me go to the manual...the manual does not frigging list the bulb number. It literally has a dash (-) where the bulb number should be.

Someone on here or another forum, after much digging, said the right bulbs were BA9S types. So I order BA9S types from SuperBrightLEDs, whose website is screaming at me that these won't fit my car. I get them, right shape, should work. Nope, a tiny bit too small, they sit a little loose, and no light.

Can someone point me to an actual link for white LEDs that will work for our cars? Apparently I'm incapable of finding the right bulb...

And how does everyone have it wrong? I mean, it's definitely not 194 type. Just, so confused and frustrated with this experience. I now have all my lights as white LEDs, my HIDs and fogs done, and ugly yellow map lights still. Sigh.

Your help would be highly appreciated. Thanks!

I ordered my kit from Amazon.ca.

It was about $27 and it came with about 10 LED bulbs. All fit and worked fine. My dome lights work nicely.

I like LED. It really gives the car a more premium look.

This is what I used and it fit perfectly. I assume these are the lights in the front above the rear view mirror.

Wanted to update and say I got them delivered today and installed. Worked beautifully. Very, very bright. But I don't mind. Thanks!

Does anyone know what size bulbs/what pack I should get from Amazon (maybe someone can provide me a link) to get LED lights for a 2018 QX60?

I bought a set but they’re wrong and the Amazon’s part finder said they fit a2017 so I took a chance but I was very mistaken

This is good news. I joined this forum just to find out what light I could get to replace the current lights in my 2014 QX60. I just bought it a few months ago and the interior lights are so dim I can't find anything I drop on the all-black floor. I don't know if the lights are dim for everyone, just my vehicle, or if it's because the interior is all black that makes it hard to see.

I'll definitely order these lights to swap out the current lights. Thank you for posting a follow up that they fit. Did you only replace the lights by the rear view mirror or any others with these new LED lights?

I replaced almost all lights with bright white LEDs. The dome lights ended up not being so great, for some reason they flicker to a dim power until I tap the dome cover. Like they don't fit too well and come lose. But it only happens sometimes? When they work, they're good. Even with all bright white LEDs it's still dark with a black on black interior. I wish these cars had ambient lighting like my wife's Escape does.
