All I remember is that it is buried back behind the glove box. I had the dealership replace it on my first major service. It is a pain to get to. Im not sure if the newer models had a change in location.

Cabin air filter

There are 2 different types of cabin air filter depending on which option your car has.
Access to the cabin air filter as other have noted is from the front right passenger footwell.
The cabin filter is on the left behind that panel - first photo.
Pull the panel out from the back, by the red circle and just pull gently and work your way carefully back.
2nd photo shows the panel removed and all the connectors.
3rd photo shows the cover to access the air filter - you have to push that tab up and tilt away and the cover will fall straight down.
4th photo is the air filter - you'll have to grab it and squeeze it like an accordian to get it out.

Hope that helps.

Great pics and thanks for the info. Was looking to do this shortly also but I see it's not an easy thing to change. Will give it a try once it gets a bit warmer. :)

I was hoping this wasn't the case in removing the filter. I had to do one on my parent's 08 Murano...PITA was it. I think I end up snapping the string that holds the glove box. Can't wait when its time to do it!

Help needed putting in the new filter...

Help needed putting in the new filter...

So I thought this would be an easy DIY, and it didn't take me too long to pull out the existing filter. Then I realized that it's very hard to put the new filter into the housing since there is very little space behind the glove box for me to align the filter up with the opening and then slide it in there.

I had to take out the glove box then, which isn't too bad either, just to realize that I still don't have the space that I need. This big round thing in the attached picture is blocking my way.

How did you guys manage to put the new filter in, without removing this round thing?

Much appreciated in advance.

You mean "do NOT" right? The cabin filter is in the front passenger foot well (high up). I've replaced it twice, gets easier and easier, but it's a pain the first time.
I've always removed the glove box to do it. Maybe next time I'll try harder, but I keep saying I'll never do it, again!

I have a 2015 QX60. I was able to remove the filter door and pull the filter out and replace it. I can't get the filter door back on though. Is there a trick to it?

Infiniti offers an N95 grade filter now. It's actually somehow cheaper than the regular filter, but filters more... This is the only time I have seen Infiniti give customers a deal. Just buy the part and install it yourself. The install fee was nearly $60, so I just I bought the N95 Filter for $38 from them.
