I was towing our pop-up tent trailer this weekend with our fully equipped 2016 QX60. The blind spot detector indicator, on the passenger side, would light up regularly seemingly 'detecting' the trailer as being in the blind spot, even when no car was next to me. Once I unpinned the trailer, this stopped happening.

Having the light on is not a big deal. But it triggers the lane departure system every time I tried to move to the right lane (i.e. it would jolt the steering wheel - braking on the other side - to stop the lane change).

What should I do beyond turning off the lane departure system? Is there a way to make the blind spot detector less sensitive? I have to confess I'm not sure I fully understand how that system detects a car in the blind sport (via the side cameras? bumper ultrasonic sensors?)

Thanks!

Some of these features are a little TOO sensitive sometimes...

Whenever I am backing into my driveway at night the sensors "detect" another car, but in reality it's just the shadow of the garage and the car slams on the brakes!
