Howdy,

Has anyone got their iPhone/Android tablet to stream in their QX60?

Anyone try something like this and what was the outcome?

Simple Lightning AV cable
Lightning Digital AV Adapter - Apple Store (U.S.)

Then run some HDMI AV cable into AV ports ...should work?

(Havent read the manual yet, just got the car)

Streamed wired iPad/iPhone (must be jail broken) and wireless android (S4). It's not as great as you think and have disabled them all because of the AUX limitations (no Bluetooth connectivity at the same time).

Interesting, so USB hard drive is my next best option....hmmm thats so not efficient tho

Depends what you're looking for. It will work if you're trying to display on the rear screens. You don't have to worry about the Nav-hack, but you're still not able to use your phone for conversations or streaming music.

You can load a 64gb USB stick with a lot of movies/songs.

Well, i have a few devices, couple tablets and phones and iPhone im not using so i was gonna load up movies/cartoons for my son that he can flip thru and watch, obviously he'll be doing this on the rear screens.

Im not how i feel about not being able to stream music at the same time since you can do that now with sliding in a DVD, my son can watch his thing and i can do my BT streaming and life's good >

That's what I've done... works well and quite easily.... hours and hours of Caillou, Peppa Pig, Super WHY, and other shows to keep the kids entertained.

iPad Streaming

In addition to watching movies and shows via a USB from the central console, I have successfully able to live stream. For streaming I used my iPad 2 connected to Apple Composite AV Cable (Apple Composite AV Cable - Apple). This way also works for multiple sources at the same time, movie on a USB on one screen and Streaming on the other. Hope that helps.

Does your iPad screen stay on the entire time?

Also, I'm assuming you're keeping the iPad up front and using the rear RCA ports?

Hi Yeller, you are right. I am using RCA ports behind the front seats since Children want to control the iPad for selecting the shows. The iPad screen stays static while streaming happens on the rear screens.
