Android Auto and QX60?

Hello all. Pretty new to the forum and enjoying all the comments and advice. I have a 2014 QX60 with premium package. Android recently released their Android Auto app and Infiniti is one of the automotive partners on board with the project. I have been trying to find out if the QX is/will be compatible with Android Auto and haven't really been able to find out much. Would love to know if anyone has any knowledge or insight into this. Thanks!

Doubt it. It may become available in future Infiniti models but I don't think it'll be a simple software update for existing systems.
What Paradox said is true, it's not on any existing vehicle.

You'll see Android Auto on future vehicles, and you'll also immediately know due to the branding on the head unit, brochures, commercials, etc...

Sucks that it's dedicated to a platform. What if you have an iPhone?
I think currently QNX is powering QX60 ? and Many Vehicles ?
i'd love to see it in action in a qx60.
their images show a dual screen infiniti setup. 2020+ infiniti models do offer android auto and apple carplay now. qx60 is still the only 2020 w/out availability. i think the qx80 is also moving to a dual screen setup for their 2020 year, similar to their other vehicles.
Hey everyone, it is sad that 2020 still doesn't have Android Auto.

Anyone has had any luck installing aftermarket dongle?
Aftermarket dongle? Didn't know there was such a thing, I thought you had to replace the entire head unit. I've seen a few cool ones including a full tablet replacement (Phoenix).

Given Nissan's troubles, they won't spend the money to update current gen-QX60's with Android auto, however I'm sure the next version will. I just hope Nissan makes a next-gen QX60 and doesn't cancel it.

For what it's worth, going forward Renault will be in charge of defining in-car technologies for Nissan (e.g. Carplay and Android Auto)

Hi Yeller, there is an aftermarket box that uses the AUX video display and taps into the factory joystick giving you the CarPlay and Android Auto experience. I've seen those made by Naviks and NavTools.

So my question is really about installing these.

I sent Naviks these questions and here are their answers:

1. Does this have a NavBypass by default? Meaning, I'd be able to operate the things from my radio that arr locked when it is running.
The unit will also bypass restrictions like address input in motion
2. Can I use other apps, like the Infiniti InTouch Car Garage while this is connected?
Our unit is connected to the cars auxiliary input, if you can Intouch car Garage now it will continue to work the same way/
3. Does the phone need to be connected via a factory USB cable or a special one?
Android phone will need to be connected to the USB port on our device
4. Do you have a video showing Android Auto play instead? I've only seen the ones Apple car play.
Only Carplay at the moment, Android Auto is standard, the interface will look identical to what you will find in a car with Android Auto
5. I've seen others suggesting to buy these with cameras. My car has the 360 views (cameras all around) can it use these instead?
Our unit will not affect how your 360 camera system works in any way
6. How do I activate the Android Auto on the screen?
You press the "Media"button until you reach the AUX as the audio source
7. Will the touch screen work, or is it only via the dial button?
Only dial button and voice button to activate OK google
8. I saw a mic on your item, do I have to use that mic or can it use the ones on my car?
You will need to use the microphone for OK google if you don't need it you don't have to mount the microphone

I went to their website and Youtube, and their unit looks pretty cool. Also, great set of questions. Too bad Android isn't wireless.

I don't remember an "aux" button on my dash so I'll need to check it out. Thanks again.
