Adjust ringer volume separate from voice volume

When my Apple CarPlay is connected (wired or wireless), I can’t adjust the ringer volume separate from the call voice volume. To hear the person I have to turn it up above 20. But when it’s set at that volume, the ringer is also set at that volume and blows you away when it rings. I’ve tried everything on my iPhone - it’s on silent, I’ve turn the ringer all the way, I’ve turned off change with buttons. But the ringer is still obnoxiously loud on my car. My 2018 Honda Pilot didn’t have this issue. I could adjust the ringer volume separate from the call volume. Can I turn the ringer off completely?? Does anybody else have this problem?

This issue of the volume changing the ringer and voice volume is still a problem. I know how to change it down but on your next call it happens again. It is with Infiniti & Apple CarPlay. It doesn’t happen on my other vehicles. If you don’t use Apple CarPlay but just Bluetooth the problem goes away but then you don’t have Apple CarPlay. Infiniti needs to fix this. It has been over a year.
Infiniti is clueless on this issue. The service department claimed the couldn’t replicate my issue and I demonstrated it for them. They then told me to solve it in CarPlay. It’s clear to me that CarPlay is only using the “ringer volume” for both incoming, ongoing and outgoing calls. I was able to lower the ring but then couldn’t hear the caller so I raised the volume and that raised the ringer volume. Circle jerk. I’m wondering if somehow connecting via Bluetooth would active the outgoing menu item which is greyed out with my phone on CapPlay. But, I can’t seem to find a way into that.
They definitely need to update the software so that volumes can be adjusted independently. Until that’s figured out I think I’m stuck with the nuclear level of incoming ringing volume.

Agree, if you connect your phone via bluetooth all works well and you can adjust the volumes separately. If you use CarPlay then you have a problem, either it's a CarPlay problem or the way Infiniti integrates with CarPlay by using one volume for all.
I’m going to try connecting the phones via Bluetooth to experiment. Thanks for the info. I’ll be in Japan soon and will try to find some poor Infiniti engineer to chat up about this.
I do confirm that if you disable Apple CarPlay and connect your phone via Bluetooth this problem is definitely resolved.
Yeah everything works. I can’t control the voice and ringer separately. I was hoping my setup was similar to yours. Basically I tried two phones same output
This is an Infiniti bug that they need to fix.

Hey Steve1010, are you able to adjust your voice / ringer in this screen? Or, even after adjusting on this screen the ringer volume is too high?

Yes, I know how to lower the volume in the menu but as everyone has stated when a call comes in order to hear the caller you need to turn the volume up which in turn raises the Ringtone volume. So what I do if I remember is I turn the ringer volume down after the call. It is very annoying and Infiniti needs to fix this issue. I really can’t believe I have been dealing with this for over a year on such an expensive SUV.

I am having the same issue! Have you figured it out at all?
I have the same issue in my Infiniti QX 60. Absolutely blows my eardrums every time someone calls me.
Here is a screenshot of the 2023's "Volume & Beeps" menu. You're able to adjust volumes separately. When Carplay is active, try going back to the OEM screen, then settings/volume & Beeps, then lower Ringtone. View attachment 6637
The problem is you have to do this every single time you get in your car and hook up CarPlay. You have to turn the ringtone all the way down every single time you turn your car on if you forget, and someone calls, you be prepared to have your eardrums bleeding.
For me, I was on Carplay the other day and my wife called. The ring tone was a bit high but nothing out of the ordinary, after I answered I had to up the volume a bit to hear her better but it was all good. Neither her voice nor the ringtone was extremely high. I was listening to music via CarPlay( Apple Music) when she called and music volume was medium.

Do you have the latest software update on your car and iPhone? I have iPhone 14 Pro with latest IOS update.

Side note, I have other issues with CarPlay. The issue I am having is if I am connected via CarPlay vs Bluetooth I am unable to hit the "Call" button when I search for a POI and and view details, reviews, address, and usually there is a phone number where you can click the "Call" button to call the business. This feature only works when the Phone is connected via bluetooth(the call button is dimmed if connected via CarPlay), also the phone signal strength and battery level icons only shows up when connected via bluetooth. I believe this could be an Apply CarPlay limitation, not sure though.
