I will be closing this Saturday and will become a new member of the QX60 family. Purchasing a NEW 2014 Liquid Platinum with Premium Plus and Driver Assist.

I would love some validation from existing owners that I'm making a good choice because to be honest, some of the negative reviews about Transmission issues, Rattling noises and inferior mpg results are starting to scare me. I understand how reviews work and that usually it's the people with issues that take the time to write something negative but that's why I'm asking here.

Any feedback either way would be much appreciated!

Thanks,
Rony

I only have a few clients that have had transmission issues, and they will fix it right away for you if it does happen. The newer transmissions on the QX60 had the fix, so you should not be worried. That was mostly on the older JX35's. I have not had anyone come to me personally about rattling noises, but I have seem people post on here about it, so I don't really have much input on this one. As for gas mileage, it will all depend on how you drive. Some people think that it should get what it says on the sticker no matter what, but they only drive in the city and have a very "heavy foot". Most of the gas mileage negative comments have been on the hybrid and not on the gas model too. I do work for Infiniti, so some people will say I have biased opinions, but this is our best selling SUV for a reason. Feel free to ask any more questions you do have, and let us know if you pull the trigger!

I have had my 2014 QX60 since July, and I have had no issues whatsoever. Transmission is fine, nd no rattles (I hate rattles, so I would definitely report on these if I had them!). Mileage has been acceptable in my opinion at around an average 19mpg, and closer to 24/25 on the highway, especially after coming from a Suburban that was a gas guzzler.

Thanks for the feedback, I'm definitely pulling the trigger on it, I've spent quite a bit of time evaluating and test driving different cars and this is the one my wife and I both agreed on for multiple reasons.

Just wanted to make sure I knew what I was getting in to in light of some of the negative reviews, things that would only come up when it's too late and you've already bought the car. We're buying it because of comfort, roominess, fuel efficiency for a 3-seater SUV and overall value. Not to mention we're leveraging a VPP discount I get through my employer and the deal I'm getting is too good to pass up.

Any other feedback is welcome.

Matt, what I've read is that the transmission has been redone on the 2015 QX60, which worried me about why and how that was improved from the 2014. Now the 2014 I'm buying was manufactured in September of 2014, so the question is did Infiniti change anything to address issues with older 2014s during the year as they did for the 2015 model, and has it been addressed on mine ...

Thanks.

That is a tough question to answer. Infiniti brought the technology out before the 2015 models came out, so my guess is the later 2014 models will have it done. I do not know of a way to know for sure though. The technology was brought out last Fall, so I would look for QX60's that were made around that time or after.

I purchased a new 2014 QX60 AWD in Dec. 2014, manufactured in September 2014. I have had no transmission issues. I will tell you that I have 6 manual speeds as opposed to the newer transmissions which have 7 manual speeds. I hope this helps.
