Hello,

I'm considering buying a new 2017 qx60. I'm a bit concerned about the CVT transmission. I would appreciate any feedback from owners about how well it holds over time , for example is more or less reliable than a regular automatic one.
I appreciate your answers and feedback.
Thank you !

I just bought one with 50k curious to know how long life I can get before the belt on the cvt tranny goes.

The cvt you have uses a steel chain, not a belt at all. If these transmissions had a typical failure mode, it is the valve body, and later models - yours included - are made with an improved vb. Change the NS3 fluid every 30k miles or 2 years, just a dump & fill, you don't need to replace 100% of the fluid, and you should be fine. Don't use oil that is not certified to NS3 specs.
