I am as well. There is a huge knocking at the top of my engine. My warranty was voided out because I went 7k miles in between an oil change. They said it was too long (2k) mile difference. So my engine is not covered. I have been doing the additives oil change but I feel I may have one year with my 2017 model. Such a shame
Same here, 2017 as well, Had knocking under load. Truck went into limp mode without previous check engine. Ended up being sludge that clogged the intake actuator?? They are telling me needs engine replacement even though we did 3 engine flushes.

Please share your outcome.

Thanks

You need to inquire with an attorney. You should be able to go 7K miles without sludging an engine to the point it needs replacement, if you have records to prove it was regularly maintained and the correct oil was used. How many miles are on the engine, where was it maintained, and what oil was used? Where's is the warning in your owner's manual that warns you of sever engine damage if you don't change the oil every 5K miles?

If your service history shows oil changes, then escalate to the service manager. If other places (lube shops), then escalate to Infiniti Consumer Affairs.

I replace my own oil after 3.5k, but never write it down so I screwed myself if I ever need to show oil change history.

I have 53K miles on my 2017 QX60, recently the dealer found sludge and told me to replace the Engine. I contacted Infiniti Corporate and the case was returned to the dealer, they want to tear it up and see if there is a manufacturing defect with the vehicle. They won't even start tearing without me providing all service records(which I don't have) and paying $1500. I took the vehicle to a local mechanic shop and they do NOT see any sludge and told me the head gasket has gone bad on one side (Based on the Block Test). When I talked to the dealer about this, he says his mechanic is correct and not the outside mechanic. It is so frustrating dealing with the dealer, oh BTW this is my 4th Infiniti, and never had any issues. Can someone please help me with the cost to replace an Engine, I live in Columbus, OH.

I am also have issues with my 2017 QX60 - we were told by the dealership in Akron (which has the same owner as the one in Columbus - all OH Infiniti dealers are same ownership) that there is a know engine problem with this SUV. WE have been getting the run around since the beginning of February. The service manager has just recently left this location and now the new service manager will not call us back. Mine is a CPO with 60K miles and is still under warranty. Was told even if you did regular oil changes sludge can build up in this engine. This is just unacceptable - I think our next step is having an attorney get involved.
