Sanjman,

If you want to the car to handle better put on bigger tires I am currently running 265 50 20 on she drive a lot better then stock 235. only bad thing I notice is gas mileage will suffer .. I am getting 19.2 mpg on the normal mode and 17.5 on eco .. That is the price you pay if you want the car to handle better. you can check out https://tiresize.com/calculator/ that will show you how much side walls you are getting and losing ..
Are you using the wider tires on stock wheels? The vehicle I replaced the 2015 QX60 was the 2013 Nissan Pathfinder which is basically a similar platform with our QX60. On stock wheels of my then old Pathfinder, I ran 255/50/R20.

I am interesting to go wider tires when it's time to buy new tires.

Could we PLEASE not pollute this post with something that should be mentioned in new post ?

Are any design parts swap-able ?

^ Wow! Didn't see that coming.. Might I remind you that the post from got2lovme9 I quoted mentioned about swapping to wider tires which is in a way related to the subject matter? If you find it not related to the subject line, are you going to reprimand the guy too as you did me?

Geez, I didn't know that this forum has a post police.

shifter swap for JX35 aka QX60

hi i know an old thread but just bought JX35 though i share so the story was my wood grain on center console around the shifter had multiply cracks in it thats was the main reason i wanted to update console but somehow decided to make a shifter swap from 2017 QX60 as i got the whole center console complete so basically i went from this :

to this :

of course how it went

i bet there were or maybe is people interested in same thing so i took some pics along my work overall thing took me 1 hour but i know too much :) lol been doing crazy swaps on all my cars mostly retrofit like this time so back to the subject.

here you can see both center consoles upside down :

by the way when swaping center console from facelift it gives you the updated cup holder look with no door and nice silver trim around it

these panels are same even the buttons for seats and mode selector is same and of course the back holes for screws so basically you can retrofit just newer shifter to your old console with door if you cant get the whole thing but you need the inside of the shifter frame and top trim for sure

of course there is underwater rocks like the actual shifter as for console with newer stile cupholders is plug and play swap using your old shifter from 2013-2015 model anyway here is what was wrong and what i did.
first thing 2013-2015 models had super basic shifter and mechanical PRND mechanism with one light bulb to actually light the letters where the 2016 and up has a fancy PRND system with its own circuit board and LED lights so basically the actual shifter in a car is different due to more wires and sensors but as usual this didnt stop me as i knew there is a solution :)

pre facelift PRND mechanism

post facelift PRND mechanism

pre facelift shifter waaay less wires and smaller plug

post facelift shifter it has its own plug for fancy PRND mechanism

ok so i got this :

but of course PRND will not lit so basically i hard wired the pre facelift bulb plug to two wires on fancy PRND led board just to turn it on when headlights are on and got this :

and that was it, and of course now PRND will lit white led light when headlight are on but will not move or change in anyway as you shift gear selector BUT who actually cares since you got a big a$$ gear display on your cluster by odometer, anyways hope my instructions was clear and you can see what is actually involved.

oh almost forgot when putting new shifter knob with infiniti logo dont be scared as the pin clip that holded it in place will not match the grove on the actual shifter but new knob goes super tight on old shifter rod so no worries here at all you must aply lots of force to actually pull it of

I too looked at doing this change. However the obvious change from a simple mechanical shift position indicator and two wires for the lamp of 13-15 models, to the central circuit board and electronic shift indicator for 16 up, deterred me. Curious, which pins were for the illumination only on the 16 up harness?

we did conclude that the headlight/tail light assemblies of the 2016 model in fact do not fit right into the 2015 models correct? Or at least not without significant effort swapping out other major body panels and fascia?

The sizes are completely different. For the headlights, you'd need the entire front clip (bumper, grille). For the tails, you'd need the entire rear hatch and rear bumper.

That's what I thought you had told me in a different thread, but I was reading through some older threads from before I joined just for kicks, and saw this thread and didn't really see a definitive answer here and wanted to make sure I recalled what you told me correctly Thanks for confirming!! I'll move along to researching some other totally trivial and unnecessary 'project' to work on for my QX60 LOL!!!

Was it plug and play, or did you have to modify anything?
Looking at the connectors for the tails, they seem to be the same. So electronic wise, it was plug and play. But you'll need the front and rear bumpers, plus the rear hatch.

Everything was swappable no problem you just need to rewrite headlamps harness to work with newer headlights.... now maybe that was just mines because my 2015 lights had AFS on it and 2018 lights didn’t but got it rewired and everything worked perfect! Now I do have to swap out shifter but my issue is that that isn’t plug and play! As the 2018 one has a different connection then a 2015 does. I ordered the 20in wheels refurbished off eBay for about $750 so can’t beat that! Basically a 2018-19 model now
