I’ve had my truck for over 4 years and love it but the only thing it was missing was an updated infotainment. Did a lot of research and went with UNavi. Just installed UNavi Wireless CarPlay over the weekend on a 2016 QX60. Took my time and was done in a little less than 2 hours. The YouTube videos are a big help and basically ran into no issues. I ordered the USB extension and ran it into the OEM Auxiliary outlet in the tray. Hardest part was running the 7 connections down to the CarPlay module. I ran it into the side panel by the passenger floor mat. I used fish tape to snake the wires and couldn’t imagine doing it any other way. Not much room for a single wire, let alone 7 connections. Surprisingly didn’t lose any screws but definitely recommend Phillips magnetic screwdriver or drill bit. I’d consider myself handy but anybody can perform the install as long as you take your time and follow all the steps. Can’t be afraid to use a little force to remove the vents, climate control, etc. UNavi provides you with everything you need. After only testing it a couple of days it works seamlessly for an aftermarket item. Wireless CarPlay pops up after a few secs. No issues with sound or touchscreen. I wish you could see climate control but it takes 2 secs to go back to the main OEM screen. All in all definitely worth it, cost was around $650 for the unit, USB ext, taxes and shipping. Got the item in about 5 days. Anyone looking to make the leap I’d say it’s worth it. Any questions don’t hesitate to ask.

Hey Yeller, for now I left it paired with both. I read some reviews that having both paired created some issues but as of now I haven’t experienced anything with both. I’ll keep you updated.

Honestly, I also have a 2022 Nissan Rogue and my phone connects quicker to CarPlay with the aftermarket than the factory. (It’s my wife’s car so you have to manually change the connection each time if you want to use wireless.)

After about 9 months my UNAVI wireless dongle kept dropping the signal which reminded me of what happened when I had the OEM Bluetooth connected after first install. At that time I watched my phone switch back and forth to OEM to CarPlay and vice versa. This time OEM was turned off so I knew something was wrong. I contacted UNAVI and within a blink of an eye a new dongle was sent no charge. Everything has worked perfect ever since. I have not yet turned on the OEM Bluetooth to test whether there is a conflict.

BTW, that was a quick install IMO, it took me 4-6 hours if I recall but I move slow. 😅

Great feedback for UNavi, thanks.

I was planning to get UNavi for my 2013, but held off to cover recent vehicle repairs (motor mount, front fans, AC, etc…), so it’s on my list for summer.

Yup Yeller/Humvet, I spoke too soon. Last night leaving work I had no sound using wireless CarPlay. Unpaired OEM Bluetooth connection and worked perfectly. So hopefully no more issues.

Humvet, that’s honestly why I went with UNavi. Reviews were great and it seems like any issues customers have they always have an answer or replace a part no charge. Also, with installation I watched the YouTube videos and studied the manual before the item came. I also have a toddler at home so spending the whole day doing the install wasn’t an option lol

Understandable Yeller, took me awhile to pull the trigger. But wanted to share that it’s worth the leap.

I originally planned to replace the Android screen, considering that the Android system would freeze and the sound quality would deteriorate. I ended up opting to add a wireless CarPlay module, but it only cost me $379 and it worked out perfectly.
