What did you pay and what was MSRP?

Does anybody know if the Manufacturer is giving the dealers incentives now to sell? I'm looking at a QX60 with MSRP of $50,750. It has Premium, Premium +, and DVD. What would be the cheapest you think I could get this car for before TTL? I was thinking about offering $40k and starting from there.

Thanks

If I had someone offer 10k below MSRP I wouldn't even go into my managers office. I would say these tend to sell right around invoice, with some people being able to squeeze out another thousand or two below that. Truecar is what most people use, and depending on incentives, you can get a little bit better of a deal.

We will negotiate for sure, but we don't have a $10k profit margin in our cars, it is closer to $3500 margin. I would say $5k off is much more realistic, but would still be a push depending on where you are located and how many dealers are around you competing for business.

So I'm $5k off on my first offer. You won't negotiate?
I'm all for driving a hard bargain - negotiating is what I do at work all day (I am an attorney) - but 10K off may be a non-starter for some. You'll also likely just piss people off with that. In my view, better to start with a more realistic offer and then move less when negotiating rather than low ball and move several grand up from there.

Agreed 100%. When people come in wanting an unrealistic amount off of the cost of the vehicle, no one will waste their time to help them. I am all for working to get a good deal for my clients, I just don't like to spend time working toward an impossible number.

If you have VPP and loyalty, and you find a color that a dealership has had for over a year in a state with five other competing dealerships in that area, you might be able to get close. I know for a fact my dealership would not even get close to that though and we have three within about 40 miles.

I just picked up the AWD Hybrid with Hybrid Prem. Pkg, Theater, and Deluxe Tech Pkg, as well as kick plates and rear bumper guard. MSRP was $60,495 and I got it for $55,454. Setting it up now - it's pretty cool!

2014 QX60 2wd gas model with premium, premium plus, theater, deluxe touring, technology packages + kick plates, roof rails, and roof crossbars. MSRP is $56805. We got it for $50300.
The kids love the DVD player. Very nice car overall. Our only complaint so far is the missing running board option.
