I notice the light out put of the QX60 is very poor vs Lexus or BMW. I was thinking about installing 100Watt ballast..

possible problems
* heat
* Melting the headlights

I have installed these 100 Watts ballast on my other cars before but never ran into any problems for 2 years now and no over heat problem the head lights still looks brand new.

just took some before and after pictures. I also installed 100w ballast on the fog lights I think they might be too bright so I plan to build projectors for the fog lights to control the beam better. You really cant tell from the picture as much as you can tell from driving the car on the roads.. Well investment....

The 1st 3 pictures are the 100w ballast and last 2 pictures are the OEM 35w ballast

100W AC Slim 1x Replacement HID Xenon Ballast Only 12V Ballast Reactor Light Car | eBay

I am using these 8000k d2s 35w bulbs .. With 100w ballast they will turn 8000k bulbs to 5000k true white .. if you use 5000 or 6000k the light will look yellow and dirty light...

I tried 100w bulbs they seem to burn out after a week or 2 so I had to go back to 35w bulbs been using the 35w for about 2 months now..

This sounds pretty neat. Has anyone else done this conversion?

Yes I installed it myself, you can get to the oem by removing 2 of the fender liner clip very easy to do

I'm thinking of converting mine when I have time. But only to the 55watt ballasts.
Was it easy to remove the existing ballasts? I don't even know where they're located. Did you use velcro? or did you screw them on? I have OSRAM 35Watt 5000K maybe 6000K lights already.

I think this includes everything you listed with the exception of the input. I assume I can just use the OEM input 9006 plug.
