Tire Rotation every 5,000 miles?

This interval seems excessive and expensive. I've never rotated my tires 3X/year. Do you think this is worth the added expense in extending tire life? Or any other reason?

Thanks,

John

For what it's worth, when I purchased replacement tires for my 2013 JX, I bought from Discount Tire.
I get a reminder from them every 6 months to come in for a free rotation and tire re-balance.
Has worked well for me.

The onboard maintenance indicator calls for oil change and tire rotation every 5k miles.

For what it’s worth—I rotate my tires every 5K, and get a 4 wheel alignment every 15-20k, depending on how the tires are wearing. I got ~45k out the OEM Bridgestones—20 inch rims. I replaced them with Michelin’s, and at $250 a tire I want to maximize tire life...so it’s worth it to me.
