Cargo capacity weight

How much weight can I put in the cargo area of my QX60? I need to pickup a load of stuff that's 1700lbs. Can I handle it in the back of the SUV?

No, Towing capacity and cargo capacity are two totally different things.
Curb Weight for the 2017 QX60 is about 4462 lbs (That is the weight of an empty vehicle)
Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) is 5937 lbs. (maximum weight of vehicle including cargo and passengers)

So cargo capacity is about the difference between these 2 numbers (about 1475 lbs including the driver and passengers)
So 1200-1300lbs max is a good range. Anything more than that, and the vehicle may be unsafe to drive.

The load capacity of the vehicle is 1400lbs (2017 MY) this includes passengers and cargo. So if you have a 100lbs driver with 1300lbs of cargo in the back you should be fine. If you have tow hitch I say tow that weight instead, as you can tow up to 5000lbs (at least with 2017 MY). User manual page 10-15 has more details on this.
